Thousands of people gathered outside the Saudi Embassy to rally and protest the Saudi governments heinous and horrific crimes of demolishing holy Islamic heritage and gravesites. Most notably the grave yard known as Jannat-ul-Baqee, where Imam Hasan Ibn Ali a.s(2nd Imam), Imam Ali Ibn Al-Husayn a.s(4th imam), Imam Muhammad Ibn Ali a.s(5th imam), & Imam Ja’far Ibn Muhammad a.s(6th imam), peace be upon them, are buried On 8th Shawwal, Wednesday, in the year 1345 AH (April 21, 1925), mausoleums in Jannatul Al-Baqee (Madina) were demolished by Ibn Saud. In the same year (1925), Ibn Saud also demolished the tombs of holy personages at Jannat al-Mualla (Makkah) where the Holy Prophet (s)’s mother, wife, grandfather and other ancestors are buried. Destruction of sacred sites in Hijaz by the Saudi Wahhabis continues even today. The idea is to eradicate the Islamic legacy and heritage and to systematically remove all its vestiges so that in the days to come, Muslims will have no affiliation with their religious history.
This ideology stems from the root of Wahhabism, the same ideology that ISIS and other terror organizations practice in their so called "Islamic" wars. The protest in front of the Embassy and White House, were to demonstrate the large number of the Muslim community who reject the Saudi regime and condemned the actions they commit, from destroying burial sites to funding of various terror organizations. The Baqee Organization is a NGO whose slogan is “Preservation of Heritage is Safeguarding of Identity.” It is committed to raising awareness for the preservation of Islamic heritage, its sanctity and seeks safety for all pilgrims visiting the sacred sites for worship or to pay homage. The organization strives to protect and stop further destruction of endangered heritage sites and restore all destroyed heritage sites; starting with Jannat-ul-Baqee as it rightfully believes that destruction of Jannat-ul-Baqee was the beginning of such atrocities in modern era.
